Increasingly, investors, foundations and governmental organizations have realized that investing in social entrepreneurs results in innovative and large-scale solutions to critical social problems.
However, early and growth stage social ventures face significant barriers:
- Limited market supply of capital and access to needed resources

Our History
Social Fusion is a young organization that has achieved a footprint much larger than its size by building on a strong foundation of innovation and entrepreneurial success.
2002
"The Social Entrepreneurship Incubator (SEI)" was launched through the joint support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and The Three Guineas Fund. SEI was grown as a program of the Women's Technology Cluster (WTC) as a learning laboratory for supporting nonprofits within an environment of successful for-profit, business growth techniques. SEI builds on four years of strong experience at the WTC in supporting forty women-led technology companies in raising over 140M in capital and in maintaining an stellar operational success record of over 78%.
2003/2004
Name change to Social Fusion, and focus shift to include hybrid for-profit and nonprofit businesses that unite social impact and business expertise. Social Fusion creates the first curriculum for social entrepreneurs, and a comprehensive set of online and offline services and tools are built to support social entrepreneurs locally and remotely.
2005
Social Fusion 'spins-off' into an independent organization focused on providing leading social entrepreneurs both locally and internationally the structure and resources they need to scale strong and credible hybrid businesses.
